Part-time Middle School

Flexible Online Learning for Middle School Students

Go beyond traditional classroom constraints with self-paced virtual learning designed for your success.

When School Is Virtual, Learning Is Virtually Limitless

Our part-time middle school program is designed to give young learners the opportunity to grow, thrive, and succeed — on their own terms. Whether you want to modify or accelerate your pace, explore a special interest, or get academic credit for hands-on experience, our customized learning model gives you the options you need.

  • Learn from home while remaining enrolled in your local school
  • Take high school-level courses that count toward graduation
  • Take courses that aren’t offered locally
  • Learn outside the classroom setting

Supporting Your Full Learning Needs

Our virtual middle school courses provide flexible options to suit different learning styles and paces. Our holistic approach gives all students the support they need to succeed.

Parents & Families

Parents are always encouraged to become involved in their child’s academic career at VLACs. You’ll have regular meetings with your child’s teachers, as well as receive regular communication and monthly progress reports. You can check on your student’s progress at any time through your VLACS parent account.

Support Team

Virtual school doesn’t mean going it alone. You’ll get an instructor for each class you enroll in who will provide consistent support and guidance throughout your time in the course. You also have access to an academic help desk, a technical help desk, and a team of VLACs professional staff.

Our certified, experienced teachers provide one-on-one support and feedback on a regular basis.

Special Education Services

In many cases, our self-paced, competency-based learning model meets students’ IEP requirements. If additional support is required, our staff works with your school district to create a positive learning experience. For New Hampshire residents, state law specifies that a student’s resident district is responsible for ensuring compliance with IEPs, including financial responsibility.

Accelerated Learning

Looking for advanced courses? Students who have met the prerequisites for high school courses can begin earning credits toward graduation while in middle school.

Enrollment and Tuition

There is no application process for part-time students, and enrollment in courses is open on a rolling basis. As an accredited public charter school, our courses are free to New Hampshire residents. All others pay tuition based on their course load.

The instructor is almost like having a personal tutor instead of having a classroom teacher, and they really have taken the time to form a personal relationship
