Our virtual learning program for adults gives you the flexibility and convenience of an online curriculum with the support of experienced instructors who are dedicated to your success. You can complete your coursework from anywhere with internet access, at the pace that best suits your learning style, goals, and schedule. And because VLACS offers direct instruction from qualified, experienced teachers from start to finish, you don’t have to go at it alone.

Tuition
Adult Education Tuition
Tuition and fees for the Adult Education Program are $105 for a four-week subscription to each course.
You will receive periodic reminders of your enrollment end date and instructions on extending your enrollment.
If you wish to apply to the VLACS diploma program, there is a $50 application fee, as well as a $50 graduation fee.
Students who withdraw within 14 days of course activation will receive a 50% refund on tuition. There is no refund for withdrawals after 14 days of activation. Application and graduation fees are non-refundable.
Adult Ed Financial Assistance
New Hampshire residents enrolled in adult education courses to earn their diploma or for career preparation purposes may receive tuition assistance, thanks to the generous contributions from our donors. Financial support is made possible by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Masiello Family Fund and the VLACS Equal Opportunity Fund.
Enroll Any Time
Our rolling enrollment allows you to register when you want and start learning right away. If you want to earn a high school diploma, you will need to complete the application process detailed below before you enroll in courses.

Browse the Learning Catalog to determine which course(s) you want to take.
Step 2. Register
Click the yellow “ENROLL NOW” button in the course description.
*You must enroll in each course individually using the unique link in the course description. This link is different from the yellow “Enroll” button found in the navigation menu.
Step 3. Pay Your Tuition
If you have a VLACS EduFrame account, sign in. If you do not, enter your information to create one. Then, pay your tuition to start learning.
Diploma program
Apply to Earn Your High School Diploma
Adult learners who wish to graduate high school with a diploma from VLACS must complete the following steps.
1. Apply Online & Pay Application Fee
Complete the online Adult Education Diploma Program Application. You may pay the $50 application fee online or by check or money order and mail to our office address specified in the next step. Do not send cash through the mail.
2. Request Your Transcripts
Contact all high schools that you have attended and request that transcripts be mailed directly to the VLACS office:

3. Schedule Your Admissions Meeting
Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions to schedule an Admissions Meeting. During this online meeting with your Advisor, you will review your Diploma Plan, discuss pacing and course completion goals, and enroll in your first course or project.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can take Adult Education courses?
VLACS Adult Education courses are available to:
-Any adult, anywhere, over the age of 21, who does not have a high school diploma; or
-Any adult, anywhere, over the age of 18, who already has a high school diploma.
What is the difference between a high school diploma and a GED or HiSET?
A high school diploma is earned by completing standard high school coursework, while both the GED® (General Educational Development) and HiSET® (High School Equivalency Test) are standard standardized exams taken by non-graduates to earn an officially recognized High School Equivalency credential.
Passing either the GED® or HiSET® yields the same legal state equivalency status for college admissions, military enlistment, and employment applications.
What is the difference between GED and HiSET?
Both the GED® and HiSET® are high school equivalency exams, but they differ in structure. The GED® covers four subjects, while the HiSET® covers five. Both are recognized as valid equivalency credentials by colleges and employers, though state policies may vary on which test is offered.
Can I take the actual GED or HiSET exam through VLACS?
While VLACS does not administer or proctor the official tests, they do provide online preparation courses specifically aligned with both the GED® and HiSET® exam subjects.
I just need help in one subject. Can I take just one course?
Yes, you can take one course or multiple courses at a time.
Is all work done online?
Yes, all coursework and instructor meetings are conducted online.
How long does it take to complete an Adult Ed course?
VLACS courses are designed to be completed as quickly or as slowly as the students needs to fully understand each competency. On average, it takes 2-3 months for a motivated learner to complete a course.
How much does it cost?
The tuition for adult education courses is $105 for a four-week subscription to each course. There is also a one-time $50 application fee for the adult education diploma program.
Is financial assistance available?
VLACS offers two forms of financial assistance for Adult Education students.
- Adult Education Diploma Assistance: This assistance to New Hampshire-resident students over the age of 21 who do not have a diploma. Students must be enrolled in our diploma program and working towards completing their diploma plan. Students will receive credit toward a portion of their tuition subscription. If the subscription expires, students may reapply for additional financial assistance.
- Adult Education Career Preparation Assistance: This assistance to New Hampshire-resident students who have enrolled in courses essential for college preparation or industry certifications. For example, a student applying to a nursing program and needing a Chemistry course as a prerequisite may qualify for this assistance.
Students will receive credit toward a portion of their tuition subscription. If the subscription expires, students may reapply for additional financial assistance.
