Earn High School and College Credit with VLACS and SNHU

In partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and VLACS, high school students can earn dual credits through the Early College program. This program provides a cost-effective, flexible way for students to experience college-level coursework, with the added benefit of earning dual credit that counts toward high school graduation and college degrees.

Why Choose Early College Courses?

  • Get a Head Start on College
    Enroll in dual credit courses and earn both high school and college credit at the same time.
  • Courses Aligned with SNHU
    Select VLACS courses are aligned with SNHU’s college-level content, expectations, and outcomes.
  • Taught by Approved Instructors
    Our high school teachers meet SNHU’s adjunct faculty requirements and have been officially approved to teach these courses.
  • Grades Count on a College Transcript
    Your grade will be recorded on an official SNHU transcript, which you can request and share with colleges later.

Tuition Fees: $100 per course. Lab courses have an additional $25 fee.

2026 Summer Semester Courses

Students enroll through VLACS and SNHU separately. VLACS course enrollment is open now. Students must be enrolled through SNHU between September 9-October 16. Students can start coursework on June 1. Students must complete all coursework by September 1.

Who is Eligible?

You can register for Dual Enrollment courses and earn VLACS credits toward your diploma if you meet the following criteria:

You are a New Hampshire student or out-of-state student who has not yet earned a high school diploma.

You are a high school sophomore, junior, or senior and will complete coursework before your 21st birthday.

You have completed any pre-requisite courses required for the dual credit course you plan to take.

How it Works

Please note: you must enroll in the course through both SNHU and VLACS.

1. View course information in the Learning Catalog

Select Early College Courses to view course materials and assignments before you make your selections.

2. Enroll in courses through VLACS

If you have not enrolled at VLACS before, you will need to create a student account in Compass, our student information system.

3. Enroll in courses through SNHU

Follow the process to complete an application and submit the course registration fee.

4. Get academic credit

Once you complete your course, you will receive VLACS credit, and provided you complete it by the SNHU deadline, you will receive SNHU credit.

What Else To Know

  • Credit Transfer Policies Vary
    Colleges and universities set their own rules about accepting transfer credits. Be sure to check with the schools you’re interested in to confirm whether they’ll accept SNHU credits.
  • Minimum Enrollment Required
    At least 3 students must enroll in the dual credit option for the course to run for college credit.
  • Don’t Miss the Deadline
    You must register for dual credit at the start of the course—no late registrations allowed once the window closes.

Enrollment and Tuition

There is an admissions fee to enroll in SNHU Dual Credit courses.
