Finish High School with VLACS: Choose Your Path to Graduation
Ready to complete high school? VLACS provides multiple options for achieving your high school credential: a high school diploma, GED® exam preparation, and HiSET® exam preparation. Explore each path to decide which option best fits your needs and goals.
The traditional diploma is the most commonly recognized credential and can provide direct access to colleges, employers, and military programs. With a diploma from VLACS, students meet State of New Hampshire high school graduation requirements and gain a well-rounded education.
Who It’s For:
Students interested in a conventional, fully-recognized diploma that aligns with traditional high school requirements, covering all essential subjects as well as elective offerings.
Students planning to apply to college or pursue careers that may prefer or require a high school diploma.
VLACS High School Program Features:
Dedicated Advisor: By enrolling in VLACS’s full-time high school program, you will be assigned an advisor who will guide and support you throughout your journey. Additionally, you’ll have an instructor for each course you take, providing personalized support to help you succeed in every subject.
Electives and Advanced Courses: Choose from additional subjects to customize your education or pursue advanced coursework.
Flexible Pacing: Complete classes at your own pace to balance other life commitments while progressing toward graduation.
VLACS Adult Education Program Features:

VLACS Eligibility
High school students under age 21: New Hampshire residents can enroll in VLACS’s full-time high school program tuition-free and complete our graduation requirements to earn a diploma. Non-New Hampshire residents can also enroll on a tuition basis.
Students with an IEP may enroll in the high school program up to age 22.
Students age 21 and older: Adults can enroll in our adult education diploma program, complete the required courses, and earn a high school diploma from VLACS. This option is tuition-based for all students.
Financial assistance is available for New Hampshire adults.
GED®
The GED® (General Education Development) test is a widely recognized high school equivalency credential that provides a direct path to college, employment, or military enlistment. This option is suitable for students who may prefer a focused exam preparation program over completing a traditional diploma.
Who It’s For:
Students or adult learners who need an alternative to earning a traditional high school diploma.
Students or adult learners who want an alternative to the HiSET® with a focus on computer-based testing, multiple question formats (fill in the blank, multiple choice, drag and drop options), and fewer subject areas.
Individuals comfortable with a self-paced, subject-focused study that prepares them for the GED® exam, which includes four subjects: Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.
Students seeking a streamlined, efficient path to earning their credential, with the flexibility to focus on one subject at a time.
VLACS Program Features:
GED® Prep Courses: We offer courses to prepare you to take each section of the GED® exam: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reasoning Through Language Arts.
Flexible Pacing: Complete the preparatory courses and take the GED® test at your own pace.
Instructor Support: Our instructors are available to offer guidance, answer questions, and provide feedback as you prepare for your GED® exam.

HiSET®
The HiSET® (High School Equivalency Test) is another option for students seeking an alternative credential equivalent to a high school diploma. The HiSET® test, similar to the GED®, allows students to demonstrate high school-level knowledge and skills across multiple subjects, with some additional focus on language arts.
Who It’s For:
Students or adult learners who need an alternative to earning a traditional high school diploma.
Students or adult learners who want an alternative to the GED® with a broader focus on subject areas and a mix of multiple-choice and written-response questions.
Individuals comfortable with a self-paced, subject-focused study that prepares them for the HiSET® exam, which includes five subjects: Math, Language Arts (Reading and Writing), Science, and Social Studies.
Students seeking a flexible and comprehensive path to earning their credential, allowing them to focus on one subject at a time.
VLACS Program Features:
HiSET® Preparation Courses: We offer courses to prepare you for the HiSET® exam subjecting: Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts – Reading, and Language Arts – Writing.
