In this course, students will learn the rules, gameplay, and guidelines for a variety of sports, including soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, football, and tennis. In addition, they will learn the officiating calls and hand signals for each sport, as well as the role a sports official plays in maintaining fair play.

During this course, you will learn career-related skills and earn a badge for this accomplishment. A badge is a digital certification of your career-related learning that you can share on social media and higher education platforms, or with colleges, potential employers, peers, and colleagues. Competencies

Sports Culture

Students will demonstrate an understanding of soccer by describing the game play of soccer and explaining soccer officiating responsibilities.

Volleyball Officiating

Students will demonstrate an understanding of volleyball by describing the game play of volleyball and explaining volleyball officiating responsibilities.

Basketball Officiating

Students will demonstrate an understanding of basketball by describing the game play of basketball and explaining basketball officiating responsibilities.

Soccer Officiating

Students will demonstrate an understanding of soccer by describing the game play of soccer and explaining soccer officiating responsibilities.

Baseball and Softball Officiating

Students will demonstrate an understanding of baseball and softball by describing the game play of baseball and softball and explaining baseball and softball officiating responsibilities.

Football Officiating

Students will demonstrate an understanding of football by describing the game play of football and explaining football officiating responsibilities.

Tennis Officiating

Students will demonstrate an understanding of tennis by describing the game play of tennis and explaining tennis officiating responsibilities.
