This course provides students with an overview of dual and individual sports. Students learn about a variety of sports, and do an in-depth study of hiking and orienteering, golf, and dual volleyball. Students learn not only the history, rules, and guidelines of each sport, but practice specific skills related to many of these sports. Students also learn the FITT principles, benefits of fitness, and safety and technique. Students conduct fitness assessments, set goals, and participate in weekly physical activity.

Students will demonstrate an understanding of outdoor sports assessments and analysis by explaining fitness assessments and describing fitness analysis and goal setting, and explaining getting fit.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the Sport Participation by describing FITT principles and summarizing safe exercise, and comparing individual and dual sports.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of outdoor sports by explaining outdoor exploration, and describing outdoor navigation.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of racquet sports fundamentals by comparing racquet sports and describing tennis skills.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the golf fundamentals by describing golf rules and explaining golf skills.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of volleyball fundamentals by explaining volleyball rules and describing volleyball skills.
