In this hands-on enrichment, you’ll get to explore a variety of creative projects that will let your imagination run wild. You’ll learn to make colorful friendship bracelets to share with your pals, create amazing paper crafts like origami and pop-up cards, and have a blast with fabric fun. We’ll also dive into nature-inspired creations, using leaves, rocks, and other natural materials to make beautiful art. Plus, you’ll discover the joy of upcycling, turning everyday items into cool new treasures. Join us for Creative Crafting and get ready for a world of creativity and fun! This enrichment experience will meet weekly.

Course Materials

Required Materials:

Week 1 Life Session Materials:

  • 3 colors of embroidery thread
  • Tape
  • Scissors

Week 1 Assignment Materials:

  • Materials will vary based on the project chosen

Week 2 Life session Materials:

  • A few pieces of colorful paper (cut into squares if needed)

Week 2 Assignment Materials

  • Construction paper (different colors)
  • Glue or gluestick
  • Scissors
  • Markers/crayons/colored pencils

Week 3 Live Session Materials

  • Yarn or rope
  • Something round, like a plate
  • A few beads (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Fleece, felt, or other thick fabric

Week 3 Assignment Materials

  • An old sock
  • Rubber bands
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Pipe cleaners or ribbon

Week 4 Live Session Materials

  • At least 4 sticks of similar size
  • Yarn or twine
  • Supplies to decorate like colorful yarn, flowers, paint, other natural materials
  • Clothes pins (optional)

Week 4 Assignment Materials

  • Packing tape
  • Leaves/Flowers/Natural materials
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon or yarn

Week 5 Live Session Materials

  • A variety of “junk” like bottle caps, small toys, old pens, soda tabs, bubble wrap, golf tees, etc. (Tip: Raid your junk drawer or the bottom of your toy bin!)
  • An 8×10 flat canvas or piece of cardboard
  • Mod podge
  • Hot glue gun
  • 8×10 picture frame
  • Paint/Paintbrush
  • Glitter (optional)
