What Does Homelessness Mean?

Under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, a student is considered homeless if they lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. This includes students living in shelters, motels, cars, campgrounds, or sharing housing due to economic hardship.
