Full-Time Middle School Application Process

If you want to register full-time at VLACS, follow the steps below to get started. Our admissions staff will work with you to complete the full application requirements and make sure you understand all the opportunities available at VLACS.

1. Create Your Accounts

You will need to create an account in Compass, our student information system. Use the link below to fill out the registration form. If you already have an account, log in.

2. Complete the Full-Time Application

Complete the full-time student application below. After you have completed the application, VLACS will contact you to complete the rest of the full-time registration process.

What Happens Next?

After you create an account and complete the full-time student application, you are not yet officially registered. VLACS will contact you to help complete the rest of the process.

  • VLACS will request your transcripts from your previous school. We will reach out if there are any issues.
  • We will enroll you in the Admissions Information Overview, to be completed by you and a parent/guardian.
  • We will contact you and your parent(s) to schedule an interview with an Admissions Counselor.

  • We will provide the Full-Time Enrollment paperwork for you and your parent(s) to complete.
  • Welcome to the Full-Time Middle School Program!

Full-Time Middle School Course Requirements

Middle school classes are numbered to indicate the suggested grade level. For example, Middle School Language Arts 1 is typically for grade six students, Middle School Language Arts 2 is typically for seventh-grade students. When appropriate, there may be flexibility/discretion involved in course selections.

Full-time middle school students are required to take a core academic course in each of the disciplines listed below during each year (6th, 7th, and 8th grade) of enrollment:

  • English Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Social Studies
  • Science

Additionally, each year a full-time middle school student is required to take:

  • Physical education or health course
  • Advisory (Full-time students are enrolled in Advisory for Full-Time Students automatically and internally once they are accepted into the full-time program.)
  • Elective course
