This one-credit course is designed for educational professionals. It may be taken on its own or as part of a cluster of courses on the foundations of customized learning. This course provides an introduction to key concepts and ideas connected to customized learning – an educational approach that tailors instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Through the analysis of key principles and strategies, students will examine how customized learning differs from traditional educational models and explore the use of technology, project-based learning, and real-world experiences to enhance student engagement. The course also emphasizes promoting student ownership of learning and addressing challenges in implementing customized learning environments. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with practical tools to create personalized learning experiences that foster autonomy, collaboration, and academic success.
Note: There will be 4 required virtual synchronous meetings using Zoom: 7:00-8:30 pm EST on Wednesdays – Feb 19, Mar 5, Mar 19, and April 2.
