This engaging learning pathway allows students to explore various career fields while mastering key concepts and skills. For each competency, you can choose to complete a pre-designed project that simulates real-life career tasks or create your own unique learning experience. Regardless of your choice, you’ll engage in thorough research and apply what you learn to authentic career scenarios.

With the pre-designed projects, you’ll tackle real-world tasks that align with each competency. If you decide to design your own experience, you’ll collaborate with your instructor and a mentor to design and complete meaningful career tasks that demonstrate your understanding. Paralegal

Competency: Informational Writing Techniques

You are a paralegal, responsible for organizing and presenting complex legal information clearly and effectively. Your role requires a strong grasp of Informational Writing Techniques.

You will create an informational presentation that will analyze text structures, evaluate an author’s purpose, and create an informational presentation.

 

Sociologist

Competency: Classic Literature

You are a sociologist who will examine the significance of renowned literary works in shaping societal perspectives and historical narratives in Classic Literature.

You will create a literary review that will explain the elements of literature, analyze the author’s style, and formulate a literary review.

 

Sports Comentator

Competency: Narrative Techniques

You are a sports commentator. You will explore the role of storytelling in sports media and its impact on audience engagement in Narrative Techniques.

You will create a narrative that will describe narrative pre-writing, explain the narrative writing process, and create a multimedia text.

 

Song Writer

Competency: Comparative Poetry

You are a songwriter who will explore the relationship between poetry and songwriting, examining how poetic techniques influence lyrical composition in Comparative Poetry.

You will create a comparative poetry analysis that will explain poetic terms, analyze historical poetry, and compare elements of poetry.

 

Psychologist

Competency: Evidence-Based Arguments

You are a psychologist who will focus on constructing logical and well-supported arguments in the field of psychology, drawing from evidence to support your claims, which will require an understanding of evidence-based arguments.

You will create an argumentative text that will explain the components of an argument, create an argument outline, and formulate an argumentative text.

Lawyer

Persuasive Oration

You are a lawyer, your role will involve utilizing persuasive language and effective communication to advocate for clients in various legal settings, which will require an understanding of persuasive oration.

You will create a persuasive speech that will analyze rhetorical appeals, formulate a persuasive speech, and integrate oration skills into a presentation.
