Enrichment Experience Outdoor Survival Skills (Grade 6-8)
Have you ever tried yoga? Do you like to get outside? Do you write in a journal? All of these are great examples of being mindful. This session will focus on ways that we can slow down and take in the world around us, while dealing with our emotions and reducing our stress. We’ll participate in activities like mindful breathing, journaling, connecting with nature, and doing yoga.
This enrichment experience will meet weekly on Wednesdays at 12:30pm. The session will run for six weeks starting the week of October 9th.
Instructor will contact each enrolled student with more information, and a list of any required materials.
During this course, you will learn career-related skills and earn a badge for this accomplishment. Students will demonstrate an understanding of yoga and mindfulness by interpreting yoga movements, using breathing techniques, illustrating emotions, and creating art using natural elements.
