In this exciting hands-on enrichment experience, young chefs will discover the amazing world of food science through fun and delicious experiments. Each session explores a unique topic that connects science to everyday foods. Students will learn about enzymes as they make homemade applesauce, investigate freezing points while creating ice cream in a bag, and uncover the science of sugar crystals by growing their own rock candy. They’ll also dive into the stretchy magic of gluten while baking pretzels and explore polymers by making chewy fruit gummies. Through these engaging activities, students will not only create tasty treats, but also gain a deeper understanding of the scientific processes that make their favorite foods possible.

This enrichment experience will meet weekly TBD. The session will run for six weeks starting the week of TBD
