This course introduces students to the world of Adobe Photoshop. Students will get an insight into what it is like working in the visual and graphic design industry. Over 11 modules, students will learn everything from absolute basics like navigating Photoshop to performing complex tasks like editing and retouching photos, applying filters and effects, and even creating original artwork. The course contains guided tutorials, do-it-yourself projects, and great resources that will help students practice and learn how to work in Photoshop.

Students will demonstrate an understanding of Adobe Photoshop project setup by explaining creation of new documents, explaining the interface of Adobe Photoshop, and explaining management of Adobe Photoshop documents.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of Adobe Photoshop interface by explaining the navigation of document creation, describing customization of assets in documents and explaining the use of the interface to process images.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of Adobe Photoshop color tools by describing the use of color in Adobe Photoshop projects, explaining the creation of color in Adobe Photoshop projects and explaining the creation of personalized presets.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of layers in a document by explaining the use of the layers panel, explaining the addition of layers to a document, and describing the types of layers in a document.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of layers for editing images by explaining the adjustments to a layer’s opacity, describing the use of a layer’s masks and explaining destructive and non-destructive editing.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of art in an Adobe Photoshop document by explaining drawing in Adobe Photoshop, explaining the use of the shape tools in Adobe Photoshop, and explaining text in an Adobe Photoshop document.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of creating and modifying visual elements in Photoshop documents by describing editing for shapes, explaining editing for sizing, and describing editing for impact.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of publishing digital media by explaining the digital metadata, comparing image file formats, and explaining the export of files.
