Powerpoint: Office Fundamentals Series

Learn to create clean and professional presentations while also building your skills as a speaker, leader, and marketer! Create and format presentations while inserting multimedia, images, transitions, and animations to make a dynamic final product! Content of this course will also be applicable to the Microsoft Office Suite certification exam.

During this course, you will learn career-related skills and earn a badge for this accomplishment. Unit 1: Plugging into PowerPoint

  • Create a PowerPoint document.
  • Format the appearance and layout of PowerPoint slides.
  • Collaborate and share PowerPoint projects with others.
  • Utilize different views available in PowerPoint.

Unit 2: Make a Powerful Point

  • Draw on design principles when creating a PowerPoint presentation.
  • Format text and WordArt in a slideshow.
  • Create and format shapes and images in a slideshow.
  • Order and group objects on a slide.
  • Import a Word Outline to create a slideshow.

Unit 3: Chart Your Future

  • Understand various types of business metrics.
  • Create, import, and style tables, charts, and graphs in PowerPoint.
  • Choose the best chart for a given scenario.
  • Manipulate data in a PowerPoint table, chart, and graph.

Unit 4: Growing Pains

  • Perform the leadership roles of a team leader.
  • Communicate effectively with others.
  • Create, insert, and format SmartArt Graphics.
  • Convert lists to SmartArt graphics.

Unit 5: The AV Club

  • Design a multimedia presentation.
  • Include sound effects in a presentation.
  • Insert and configure video in a presentation.
  • Identify new presentation technologies.

Unit 6: Animators, Ready!

  • Apply slide transitions including timing and effects.
  • Animate slide objects such as text and shapes.
  • Sequence, order, group and time multiple animations.
  • Utilize a motion path in an animated object.

Unit 7: The Final Product

  • Apply final formatting to a presentation.
  • Evaluate and plan a presentation’s approach and form.

    Students will demonstrate an understanding of PowerPoint functions and design principles by describing how to create new presentations and explaining the design principles of PowerPoint presentations.

    Students will demonstrate an understanding of the use of visual elements and the leadership and structure of a business by explaining the purpose and impact of visual elements on a presentation and how leadership and business structure impact business development.
  • Audio Visual & Animation
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of incorporating Audio Visual and animation in a PowerPoint presentation by explaining the purpose and effects of audio-visual elements and animation when creating a PowerPoint presentation.
  • Using PowerPoint
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of the stages of business development, use of PowerPoint presentations, and business marketing by defining the 6 stages of business development, explaining the use of presentations for businesses, and describing the processes involved in marketing.
