Students will master the competencies by completing an experience which requires the student to work with their instructor to determine how they will complete their learning and what they will produce as evidence of their learning. Typically this involves the student finding and working with an outside expert and spending time at a workplace or in the community learning through hands-on experience.

Nursing Duties and Responsibilities: In this experience, you will learn about the field of nursing while also observing or participating in it. You will use the experience you gain to complete tasks throughout the lessons; once you are finished you will have a more thorough understanding and inside perspective of the field of nursing!

Nursing Career Pathway and Growth Opportunities: As you ponder potential career choices, a path in healthcare may pique your interest, and more specifically, a career in nursing. But where do you begin? Once you begin looking, you will quickly realize that there are many different nursing roles, each of which has its own unique qualities and challenges. But as with any job, the more education you acquire to prepare and the more opportunities you seek out to grow as a professional, the more fruitful your career will be.

Nursing Ethics and Professional Standards: Nurses in the field enter the position with a good understanding of what the job entails and the dedication it requires. What prospective nurses may not expect are the extensive ethics and professional standards involved in the career. By learning and adopting ethical and professional standards, nurses can ensure they are following best practice while adding their own personal touch to patient care.
