How much do VLACS courses cost?
VLACS elementary, middle, and high school courses are free for New Hampshire residents. Out-of-state or international tuition is $1,162.33 per credit or $581.16 for half credit, with a $20 non-refundable registration fee. Additional fees apply for college courses.
When does enrollment start?
Enrollment at VLACS is always open. Students can apply for full-time or part-time status. Full-time applicants should attend an open house or contact [email protected], while part-time students can start by enrolling directly.
Is VLACS accredited?
VLACS is a state-approved charter school in New Hampshire, authorized to award high school diplomas and academic credits. Our programming and services meet the NH Board of Education’s standards, with regular reports and a five-year charter renewal process.
How is the coursework structured?
Students begin with a Welcome Meeting involving the instructor and a parent or guardian. Lessons, assignments, and grades are accessed through a secure online course management system. There are no live classes; instead, students and instructors communicate through various methods such as monthly meetings and discussion-based assessments.

What technology do students need?
Students need a laptop or desktop capable of running Windows or Macintosh operating systems and reliable internet access. VLACS provides laptop and internet assistance to qualifying New Hampshire residents.
What types of courses or learning opportunities are available?
VLACS offers a wide range of learning opportunities, including traditional coursework, competency-based learning, project-based learning, and career and technical education. Students can also participate in experiences, projects, early college programs, and interest-based learning.
Can students still attend if they have a learning disability?
Yes, VLACS accommodates students with IEPs. Part-time students can receive IEP services from their local school, while full-time students receive support directly from VLACS.
What is a parent’s role at VLACS?
Parents are encouraged to stay actively involved in their child’s education, especially for younger students. This includes participating in welcome calls, monthly meetings, and monitoring progress through the VLACS student information system.
What is the typical timetable for a course?
