Script Development Process – Students will demonstrate an understanding of the script development process by applying prewriting techniques, developing an elevator pitch,  and using the parts of a script to develop a short film script.

Project

You are a screenwriter for a new and upcoming filmmaker. The filmmaker wants a short, catchy video to entertain an audience prior to viewing a major film at the theatre.  It is a great opportunity to get your name and the filmmaker’s name out there!

You will need to develop a script for the short video and create an elevator pitch to present to the filmmaker and producer.

Pre-Production Process – Students will demonstrate an understanding of the pre-production process in filmmaking by creating a storyboard that includes a variety of planning elements and analyzing camera shots needed for their film.

You are a director for a new script that your film company just approved.  You will need to create a storyboard for your film, so that everyone has a clear understanding of what to do during filming.
