Script Development Process – Students will demonstrate an understanding of the script development process by applying prewriting techniques, developing an elevator pitch, and using the parts of a script to develop a short film script.
You are a screenwriter for a new and upcoming filmmaker. The filmmaker wants a short, catchy video to entertain an audience prior to viewing a major film at the theatre. It is a great opportunity to get your name and the filmmaker’s name out there!
You will need to develop a script for the short video and create an elevator pitch to present to the filmmaker and producer.

Pre-Production Process – Students will demonstrate an understanding of the pre-production process in filmmaking by creating a storyboard that includes a variety of planning elements and analyzing camera shots needed for their film.
You are a director for a new script that your film company just approved. You will need to create a storyboard for your film, so that everyone has a clear understanding of what to do during filming.

Production Process – Students will demonstrate an understanding of the production process by developing a shot list, using proper lighting and audio techniques, and following a video production schedule and checklist to film scenes for a short film.
You are a camera operator for a new script. Your film company just completed the final details on the storyboard. You will use this storyboard to create a shot list and video production checklist and schedule for your film.

Post-Production Process – Students will demonstrate an understanding of the post-production process by identifying and applying editing techniques, and revising their film into the final cut.
You are a video editor at a new, up and coming film studio. Your director has just finished filming all of the scenes for a new script, and he is anxious to see it all together.
