Have you ever wanted to pursue your passions and dive into exciting projects that fuel your hobbies? Meet Tej, a VLACS student who did just that by participating in job shadows and a micro-internship with VLACS!

Tej took his passion for computer science to the next level by exploring the many different careers in the field, like cybersecurity and game design. He connected with experts to learn more about these fields and gain advice about entering the career.

Reflecting on the experience, Tej shared that hearing more about these careers intrigued him even more. "The cybersecurity job shadow made me more interested in the field. Before the job shadow, I had a very limited idea of what the career entailed, but now, I have a far better understanding of the field and various opportunities within it."

If you are considering participating in one of these experiences, Tej recommends, "Choose job shadows and/or micro-internships in careers that you are interested in while also exploring areas that you don’t know a whole lot about."
