Job Shadow 2 is the same as Job Shadow 1. Job Shadow 2 is for students wanting to do a second round of the job shadow offering. Students will earn 1/8 of credit and a job shadow badge after completing two individual job shadow experiences and reflecting upon their job shadow experience with their VLACS instructor.
A job shadow is an experience that allows students to observe a professional on the job to get a first-hand look at their roles and responsibilities. During a job shadow, students will spend a minimum of 3 hours on-site at a workplace, exploring a career in an industry that sparks their interest. Each job shadow is a valuable opportunity for students to ask questions and gain insight into careers they may pursue after graduation!
Note: Job shadows are intended to take place on-site. If circumstances do not allow you to go onsite, such as the location being too far away, you are not allowed on-site for safety reasons, or for other reasons approved by your VLACS instructor, you may work with your instructor to arrange virtual job shadows.
During this course, you will learn career-related skills and earn a badge for this accomplishment. A badge is a digital certification of your career-related learning that you can share on social media and higher education platforms, or with colleges, potential employers, peers, and colleagues.
