Hotel Ethics and Professional Standards

In this experience, you will learn about the impact of hotel ethics and professional standards in the hotel industry while also observing or participating in it. You will use the experience you gain to complete tasks throughout the lessons; once you are finished you will have a more thorough understanding and inside perspective of the hotel industry.

Hotel Departments Function

In this experience, you will learn about a variety of hotel department functions in the hotel industry while also observing or participating in it. You will use the experience you gain to complete tasks throughout the lessons; once you are finished you will have a more thorough understanding and inside perspective of the hotel industry.

  • Hotel Duties and Responsibilities
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of the hotel duties, the responsibilities and the use of resources as they relate to the guest experience and branding of the property by examining, observing, or participating in the duties, responsibilities, and resources.
  • Hospitality Career Pathway and Growth Opportunities
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of hotel career pathways by exploring hotel career options, the pathway to a specific hospitality career, and ongoing growth opportunities within one or more career pathways.
  • Hotel Ethics and Professional Standards
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of incorporating hotel ethics and professional standards into guest service by examining the ethical values including fairness, sincerity, and generosity as well as the professional standards of customer success, brand loyalty, and excellence in service.
  • Hotel Departments Function
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of the function of departments within a hotel by examining and explaining the function of each department and how they provide (or contribute to) a positive guest experience through hosting, serving, catering, and entertaining the guests.
