Medical Technician Duties

In this experience, you will learn about the field of healthcare while also observing or participating in it. You will use the experience you gain to complete tasks throughout the lessons; once you are finished, you will have a more thorough understanding and inside perspective of the medical technician career field!

Technician Ethics and Professional Standards

In this experience, you will learn about the impact of ethics and professional standards in the healthcare industry while also observing or participating in it. You will use the experience you gain to complete tasks throughout the lessons. Once you are finished, you will have a more thorough understanding and inside perspective on the impact and integration of ethics and professional standards in medical technician practice.

Technician Knowledge and Skills

In this experience, you will learn about the knowledge and skills needed in the Medical Technician profession while also observing or participating in it. You will use the experience you gain to complete tasks throughout the lessons; once you are finished you will have a more thorough understanding and an inside perspective of the healthcare industry.

Career Pathway and Growth Opportunities

In this experience, you will learn about a variety of medical technician career pathways in the healthcare industry while also observing or participating in them. Competencies

  • Medical Technician Duties
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of executing technician duties and responsibilities by examining technician duties and responsibilities and observing or participating in their implementation for patient care.
  • Technician Ethics and Professional Standards
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of incorporating healthcare professional standards and ethics into patient care by explaining the ethical obligations that guide a medical technician’s professional conduct and compliance with professional standards.
  • Technician Knowledge and Skills
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of the knowledge and skills required of a technician in a hospital, lab, or healthcare office by explaining the medical and scientific knowledge and the electronic and equipment skills required to support healthcare supervisors in the care of patients.
  • Technician Career Pathway and Growth Opportunities
    Students will demonstrate an understanding of medical technician career pathways by exploring technician career options and pathways to a specific technician career, and ongoing growth opportunities within one or more career pathways.
