Grade 11 advisory is designed for part-time students looking to explore the topics outlined in the competencies. Students may elect to complete individual competencies or do the entire set of competencies for 0.5 credits. For students in a brick and mortar school, the college exploration process competency should be done in conjunction with students working with their local school counselor.

Identifying Opportunities and Goal Setting:
Students will demonstrate an understanding of post-secondary opportunities by identifying one or more area of interest, exploring the importance of networking, and setting goals that will lead to the actualization of one of the goals.

Project

As you begin reflecting on your interests and entertaining visions of the future, it’s helpful to do your research. Knowing what job opportunities align with your interests, how networking plays a role in the career you choose, and what steps are required to get started are considerations that will dictate your path. Here you will begin exploring these questions and tackling them head on!
