Here are some cool new features in your VLACS courses!
On this help page you will find descriptions guiding you through using the new features in your course. There will be a corresponding picture below each write-up. These new features will help you keep track of your success throughout your course!
Indicates a competency assessment that has not been completed yet.
Indicates a competency assessment that you have already completed and scored at least a 75% on. Nice job!
Indicates that the competency assignment was attempted, but you scored less than a 75% on it.
Showing and Hiding Optional Assessments:
You will now have the option to show or hide optional assessments. We are giving students this ability because VLACS has a dynamic course format that guides you through the sections you have requested. However, there may be times where you can benefit from going through a lesson and assessment that you are not required to complete.
Example: You have requested a section on "systems of linear equations" and you might find a lesson on "basic functions and graphing" helpful to you completing your requested section, even though it is not required.
To show non-required assessments for a module, click Show non-required assessments at the top of a module box.
To hide non-required assessments for a module, click Hide non-required assessments at the top of a module box.
Opting In and Out:
We are excited to have these new features in our courses! If you do not want to take advantage of these great new features, simply click Opt out to our new assessment list format, which is found at the top of your Work To-Do list in your classroom. If you have opted out and wish to come back to the new features you can click Opt in to our new assessment list format, which is found at the top of your Work To-Do list in your classroom. Please note that every time you log in to work on your courses you will be automatically opted in and if you want to opt out you will need to click Opt in to our new assessment list format.
Opted out and want the new features back? No problem! Simply just click Opt in to our new assessment list format to return things to normal.
