Important Policies for Students

We ask that students review the following board policies on an annual basis.

By checking the box at the bottom of the enrollment you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to abide by the policies that follow.  You are welcome to review the entire VLACS policy manual which is available here.

Policies

Policy AC:  Nondiscrimination 

This policy states that it is the policy of the Board, in its actions and those of its employees, that there shall be no discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, age, or disability for employment in participation in admission or access to, or operation and administration of any educational program or activity in the School.

Policy ACE:  Rights of Disabled/Handicapped Persons

This policy outlines the rights of disabled/handicapped persons as they relate to employment, facilities and programs, and students.  This policy also describes the grievance procedure.

Policy GBED:  Tobacco Free Schools

This policy established the rule that tobacco or associated products may not be used on school grounds (e.g., administrative offices, graduation, or other school sponsored events).

Policy IJND:  Student Code of Conduct & Acceptable Use

This policy lists the rules regarding the use of technology while enrolled in VLACS courses or activities.

Policy JFA – Residency

This policy applies to New Hampshire resident students and outlines how residency is confirmed.

Policy JFBB – Enrollment of Expelled or Suspended Students

This policy states that VLACS will not accept a student’s application for admission into VLACS’s full-time program while the student is expelled from any school district, public charter school, or private school. VLACS may enroll an expelled student who was expelled from a New Hampshire public school with the recommendation of the Superintendent.

Policy JIC – Academic Integrity

This policy defines academic integrity and sets expectations for students.

Policy JICL – Pupil Safety and Violence Protection

This policy defines cyberbullying and describes procedures for reporting and investigating procedures.

Policy JRA – Student Records – FERPA

This policy defines the rights of parents and students with respect to access and dissemination of educational records.
